4340 Hot Rolled Bar

Capital Steel & Wire is a distributor of 4340 grade hot rolled steel bar stock. The 4340 alloy steel is a nickel-chromium molybenum with a medium carbon content. It has excellent ductility, toughness and strength characteristics that make it useful for a variety of industries and applications.

Hot rolled 4340 is often used for applications in the automotive, aerospace and tooling industries including axel shafts, airplane landing gear parts and drilling parts. 4340 is often the alloy of choice as it provides hardenability that other similar steel grades cannot provide.
