4340 Cold Drawn Bar

Capital Steel is a distributor of 4340 grade cold drawn steel bar stock. 4340 cold finished steel is an excellent heavy duty steel alloy as it combines ductility, strength and toughness. It is known as an ultra high strength grade of steel and serves a variety of applications for highly stressed parts. 4340 has excellent toughness and preserves good fatigue strength when it is heat treated. 4340 steel can be bent or formed as the properties in the annealed condition provide good ductility. 

4340 bars are often used in the aerospace industry to make aircraft landing gears and parts and are also useful for mine drilling parts, axle shafts, machine tool arbors, trunnion shafts and other heavy duty shafting.
